It's called precision agriculture, and will consist of sensors all over the fields of rural America to monitor crops and cattle with real-time data feedback. From the Children's Health Defense website:
Precision agriculture involves the use of sensors in fields to measure moisture and temperature levels, satellites and drones that provide remote real-time images of crops, and even wireless sensors attached to cattle that monitor their health and track their location.
Proponents...see it as a path towards increased profitability, sustainability and [for] farmers to determine [optimal amounts] of water, fertilizers or pesticides.
