You don't always get to serve on a murder trial and end up giving the death penalty. In this interview, Carl and I discuss his experience as a juror in Riverside County, CA where a gruesome 2007 murder case was finally brought to trial. What does an ordinary person go through when they are expected to decide on the fate of another in such a situation? Surprised that he was chosen for the jury, Carl said he re-watched the 1957 courtroom/psychological drama "12 Angry Men" to prepare, and describes the process that led him to the unanimous jury decision. The only option would have been life without parole (see FreeSalerno.com for another prisoner's story). Yet although the capture of "a danger to society" was achieved in this case, what of the enormously high-level crimes that occur in perpetuity around us -- with no accountability? We discuss this and the recent possible hit on Jeff Rense in our conclusion.
